A little over a week ago on a friday night, Jake and I were trying to get the kids ready for bed and have them in bed early because we were headed to Salt Lake the next day, early. They were all set for bed, except for one thing, Sadie's pink blankey. The pink blankey that has been with her from birth, the blankey that has been everywhere with us; Lake Powell, Nauvoo,4 moves, many trips to Wal-Mart, walks around the neighborhood, pretty much everywhere we have been in the last 3 years. You see this is the blankey that she has to have when dozing off to sleep. She snuggles up with it, puts her thumb in her mouth and she is off to dream land. Well at 8:30 pm on Friday, it was no where to be found. We searched the whole house several times over and no sign of it. What could have happened to it between naptime and bedtime? I didn't really even leave the house, except for a walk around the block. So I hopped in the car and drove around the block 2 times. Still nothing. We searched the house some more. Still nothing. We tried other blankets and used the word "special" when showing them to Sadie hoping that would do the trick. Her response was always the same, "No! I want my pink one!" So at 11:00 pm I was headed to Wal-Mart praying all the way there that they had a Sadie blankey of sorts. And you know what? They did! Thank heavens. Finally she had her "pink blankey" and went to sleep. So much for early to bed!
Here's the new blankey...very snuggly, just like the old one.
