This boy...
This boy has got my heart, that's for sure.
He is a handful, he makes me crazy at times.
He really is quite naughty at times, but oh how I love him.
The other day as I was rocking him for his nap,
I watched his long eyelashing flutter open and shut and then finally close and
I thought about the last 6-9 months with this little man.
He has struggled in so many ways, he couldn't hear well, he couldn't talk
or communicate his needs.
He was frusterated, we were frusterated.
He was miserable.
He wasn't sleeping well at night.
He had surgery and still struggled for a while.
The last 2 1/2 months he has been doing so well.
Hearing better, understanding more, talking more and more everyday.
Healthy.
Happy.
Sleeping well at night.
We even got rid of the binky and he is doing great.
So thankful for time and what it can do,
and for this little man and all the rough and tumble he adds to my life.
Soccer
Sadie wanted to play soccer. She's had fun playing. She's the smallest one on her team
and has a hard time getting in there and being aggressive. Those older girls are pretty aggressive.
She like to play goalie, that's her favorite. It's been fun to watch her play.

Nesting

Sweet baby #4, a GIRL!
Now that I have more energy, I've been in nesting mode full force lately. I've got a lengthy list of things to get done before baby. A couple weeks ago I had the urge to paint Mckay's room. No big deal I thought, I'll just paint it by myself, it might take a few days but I can do it. Well about two weeks later I finally got it done. Half way into it, I wondered what I had started, it was a big job to do alone but I got it done and I was quite proud of myself. :) Now I just need to figure out what to put on the walls. The other day I also washed all the walls in our house, they were just bugging me with all the food, fingerprints, etc. all over the place. Who washes walls on a whim? I certainly don't (usually). The only time I ever have is when I've had to, like when moving. Crazy I tell ya.
We also found out we are having a girl. Yay! So excited. I was 99.9% sure that it was a boy so it took a day or two to sink in, but we are so thrilled. The poor ultrasound lady probably thought I was nuts when I kept asking her, "Are you sure?, really? It's not a boy?" So much for mother's intuition.
Trying to figure out where this little girl is going to sleep, which kid will be best sleeping partner. Of course she'll sleep with in our bedroom for a bit, but after a few weeks, I find that I can't sleep with all the sweet grunts and cute little baby noises that go on in the night.
Here's what we got so far:
Hallie-sleeps like a rock, probably the best canidate, but not thrilled on the idea
Sadie-thrilled on the idea, but her motherly instinct that I so love about her might interfere with a good night sleep, and she's a light sleeper
Mckay- just started sleeping well himself, don't want to mess up a good thing, and once he moves to a big boy bed, it could create issues with waking new baby up.
So that's what we got, they have a few months to prove themselves so we shall see.

Mckay's top 5...
1. binkie or "bink" as he calls it
2. blankie
3. balls or anything that resembles a ball, tomatoes, apples, oranges at the grocery store, yes he has thrown all three while shopping.
4. sippy cup of milk
5. bubbles
It's the simple things in life, youknow? As long as he has these things in his life, it's all good.
I love watching him try to blow bubbles, it's the cutest. He blows with all he has , without much success, but he just keeps on trying and he is getting the hang of it. He's so proud of himself when he actually blows one.
