Building a House & Kanarraville Falls
Well for the last few months we have made a couple offers on existing houses, but things never worked out. We found a lot that we liked and our friend is a contractor here in Cedar City, so we were able to work things out to build a house that we get to design. It's hopefully going to be done by the end of November so we are excited to watch the progress. Here is what has been done so far. We went on a hike a couple weekends ago to Kanarraville Falls that was a lot of fun.

Catching up
I'm such a slacker these days. We've had a lot going on lately so here's my attempt to blog about it.
Hallie played T-ball this year. At first she was really nervous about it all. The first game was pretty overwhelming for her. She's never played before, they didn't have any practices, they don't keep score, it's just suppose to be fun. The first game she was up to bat, hit the ball and then just stood there not knowing what to do. I kept yelling, "Run Hallie run!" So then she started running toward me. I tried to tell her to run the bases. The blank look on her face was classic. I felt so bad for not showing her how to run the bases. It just seemed like such a basic thing, but how would she know she's never really done it before! Anyway, we practiced at home and then she was hitting and running the bases like a pro and having fun! It was really fun to watch all these cute little girls play.

We also went on our annual trip to Lake Powell with my family. I didn't take very many pictures. I guess I was too busy keeping track of kids and making sure they weren't too hot, that they were drinking enough and not getting sunburned. We had a great trip and the girls loved the water and never wanted to get out!
Sadie with Aunt Amy

Hallie went to her friends the other day to sell lemonade and ever since she wanted to have a little sale of her own. So we made cookies and lemonade and she had a little bake sale. She was very excited to make a whoppin' $4.50! It brought me back to my own bake sale days. Good times.

My brother, Aaron and his family came out to visit from Georgia. It had been so long since we had everyone together. It was so great to have them here. Hallie and Sadie loved playing with their cousins, Gareth and Elliot. It was sad to see them go.

Hallie's haircut
We've been thinking about cutting Hallie's hair for awhile. It's just so much work. So we finally did it. She was so excited. I have to admit I was a little sentimental about it all. She really did have pretty hair, but I'm loving the low maintenance of it all and it looks so cute on her. It is just hair, it soon will grow!
Before the big whack

I talked to her about how you can donate your hair to help children who are sick and lose their hair and she really wanted to.

The First Cut

Ta-da!

The Finished look

Already to send in the mail, Feeling sassy now!

On second thought maybe we'll keep it so Jake can have the mullet that he's always dreamed of! Ha Ha!

Hallie turns the big 5!
I can't believe that another year has flown by and my baby girl is 5! I can't help but get sentimental at every milestone, and this one just seems like such a big one. Hallie is such a good little girl and I feel so blessed that she is part of our family. She has the ability to make the simple things in life fun and exciting. She is a great big sister to Sadie and I enjoy watching the relationship that they have with each other. She is very smart. She recently has been learning to read a little bit. She also has learned a little subtraction and addition and is very proud that she can do "Math". She has also mastered snapping and has almost got whistling down. She is very much in to "High School Musical" and wanted to have that as the theme for her party of course! It was a fun party and a fun day. Hallie wanted waffles for dinner so we went to IHOP for dinner. I love this little 5 year old girl so much. Happy Birthday Hallie girl!

Maggie Moos
Cedar City has hit the big time! We recently got a Maggie Moos here and we've been there a couple times already. The last time we went Sadie was insistant on getting the "blue" ice cream, Cotton Candy. I wasn't sure if she would even like it, but we let her get it anyway...and boy did it make a mess! (and a very interesting diaper the next day)There was so much blue dye in it. She did enjoy every bit of it however and I enjoyed watching her enjoy it. :)
