Christmas Dinner

For Christmas Dinner we got together with some friends who were also without family and carried on the Holm tradition of Crab legs, shrimp, and steak. Everyone brought some food and it turned out really yummy. It was nice to have good friends to ease the longing for family!

Here's a shot of the feast. Notice the intensity!

Christmas morning

Here's some shots of Christmas morning. As you can see it was a fun time had by all! It was a lot of fun watching Hallie get so excited. It was non stop fun all day long playing with all her new toys.

The Nativity

On Christmas Eve we went to our good friends, the Palmers house for dinner. We had a great time. The kids acted out the Nativity. They were all very excited to participate and it was really cute to watch. Hallie was an angel and Sadie was a shepherd. Here's our little shepherd all smiles before the big performance. ( with a little bling bling)
The cuties in action. Just too much for our little shepherd.

Happy birthday Sadie!

Sadie digging in to her birthday cake and loving every minute of it!

Peek a Boo!

Sadie loves to play "Peek a boo" through her legs! I'll find her
in this pose quite often just waiting to be discovered. I finally got a
picture of it. I had to be quick!

Finger Painting!

Hallie and her preschool teacher, Dawna. She's in the home base Head Start program where Dawna comes once a week,(every Monday) and they work on different things each week. She's learned a lot. She really got into the fingerpainting and loved every minute of it! Surprising considering she doesn't like her hands messy! So much fun!

O Christmas Tree

Well my plan was to take a cute picture of the girls in front of our tree and make Christmas cards, but it's Dec. 23 and I don't think that's going to happen this year, but here are some cute shots anyhow.

We went to a Christmas tree farm to get our tree this year. I just couldn't give in to getting a fake one. It turned out to be a good time had by all. I pulled the girls around in the sled, we warmed up afterwards with cookies and hot cocoa and we got to sit in Santa's sleigh.

We got a really pretty 5 footer that cost a pretty penny (a little more than a $5 tree permit), but it was worth it in my eyes!

More friends

I found this cute picture of Hallie and her good friend Reese playing dress up together. What cuties.

Friends

We've been so blessed to have good friends all around us here in Vermillion. It's so fun for Hallie to have so many friends to play with. She always talks about them to her Grandparents so here are some pics. More to come when I find our other memory card.
Here's Jacob and Hallie ready for the snow! Too cute!
Aubrey and Hallie (sorry a little blurry)

Sing Sweet Nightingale

Hallie loves getting into character of Cinderella quite often. I was doing some cleaning and she wanted a rag. Next thing I knew she was washing the floor singing, "Sing sweet Nightingale , Ahhhhh" It was the cutest thing and I got a clean floor !

Hallie's very own Christmas tree!

Mohawk baby!

Jake did Sadie's hair after her bath. Her hair really is growing!

So I just realized that I'm moving backwards with the blogs instead of forward. Sorry. This is all new territory for me. Hopefully I've got it figured out now.

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

We went on a field trip with Hallie's school to a pumpkin patch outside of town. It was such a fun day for all three of us! We went on a Hayride, fed the goats and of course picked a pumpkin. We also got to taste some apples from the apple orchard. Hallie had such a great time and couldn't get over the goats and how they would eat right from your hand.

I choose the Sadie punkin!
I took the girls on a "nature walk" awhile back on a trail by the Vermilion River. We came home with lots of "treasures" that Hallie found. Here are a few shots of the girls on the bridge. It was such a pretty day!

Better Late than never!

Well, to keep up with all you bloggers out there there here is my attempt! The blogging bar has been raised and I've given in to the pressure to keep ours more up to date and to provide more captions! My computer illeteracy is a problem but I think I'm up to it. Jake is super fast at this kind of stuff and I'm super slow, but it'll be good for me. Since today is a "snow day" (church was canceled) I thought it was a good oportunity to tackle it. Here goes....
