Making it private

I've wondered for the past little while if maybe I should make our blog private just to be on the safe side. I havn't wanted to because I know that it can be a little bit a pain for some people, but I figure it's better to be safe than sorry. So I will be making ours private, hopefully by Wednesday Aug. 13th. Most of you know the drill, just let me know what e-mail address you use for your sign in. If you don't already have one you will need to get a blog account in order to be invited. Just e-mail your address to me at jakenicoleholm@yahoo.com or leave me a comment and you will receive an invitation to view our blog. I'm sorry for the bother, but I think it's the right thing to do.

Lake Powell!

Diggin' in the sand

Happy Hallie. She really did have fun swimming I promise!

I love Lake Powell. I've been going there pretty much every summer as long as I can remember and it just never gets old. It is so beautiful. I love all the rock formations and all the fun that there is to have in the water. We were able to go for the 24th of July weekend with my family and had a great time! It was hot, but not unbearable. Hallie loved the water and even rode the tube! It was hard to get our little fish out of the water long enough to get something to eat or drink and load up on the sunblock. Sadie had fun too for the most part. She loved the sand. She even rolled in it a few times and was literally covered from head to toe in sand. She liked the water as long as she had her legs wrapped around my waist and death grip on my swim suit. It was a great trip and I'm so glad that we were able to go! Thanks Mom and Dad!
A shot from the beach.

Hallie on the tube with my brother Jordan. Managing to wave to the fans.
Naptime in the boat!
a ride on the tube with Daddy! Hallie still managing to get a wave in. Hang on Jake!
I had to get a picture of Sadie in her sunglasses. She kept these on most of the time which surprised me! Our little Miss Hollywood. She's even got some bling- bling going on.

I love summer!

It's been a little bit since I've posted. We've been having too much fun enjoying summer. It's been so nice to spend the majority of our days outside. We had a nice 4th of July. My mom and I took the girls to the parade while the guys went golfing. They had so much fun. Sadie loved the horses. Hallie liked the dancers. Hallie came prepared for the candy with her princess purse. She was very happy that she almost filled the whole thing! The good old Cedar City parade. They really came through this year in the candy area. They also had a new group this year, the "Bed pan Bregade". A group of women from the hospital who did a dance routine with bed pans. Sorry only people from Cedar City will probably appreciate this. We also had a BBQ at my parents house. The kids went swimming. Hallie jumped on the tramp with the spinkler on (one of her favorite things to do). We made homemade ice cream and then went and watched the fireworks. It was such a fun day. I don't have too many pictures, I get to involved enjoying myself sometimes, that I forget to stop and take pictures. I've always loved fireworks. It's even more fun watching them through the eyes of your children. It was so fun to listen to Hallie as she watched them. She really liked the pink ones (surprise surprise) and the ones that "twinkle" she said. Sadie even piped in an occasional "whoa!".
Summer is just such a fun time. I'm really enjoying doing all the great things that I remember doing as a child with Hallie and Sadie. It's such simple things that bring such joy to them.

Sadie making a spash. Don't you just love the hair?

A loving cousin moment with Felps. I think it's funny that Sadie calls him a baby when he's exactly the same size as she is.

One night we went on a picnic at the park by the creek. Here's a shot of us girls.
