I've never done one of these before mostly because a lot of them are lengthy and I just didn't want to sit down and do it, but this one sounded good to me! Thanks Katie!

Jake's Birthday and trip to Ely
Another year older for Jake. We celebrated by having Cafe Rio night with my family and ice cream cake. It's sort of become a tradition for Jake's birthday. I hope that he had a good birthday. My mom watched the girls the next night so we could go to dinner and movie.
We also took a trip to Ely, Nevada this past weekend. There is a really good job opportunity out there so we went to check it out. I was prepared for the worst after everything people had told me. Actually it really wasn't that bad. Yes it is small, yes it is remote, and No there is not a Wal-Mart, but I think I could live there. As long as it wasn't forever. WE went to church there and the people were really nice. So who knows? Hopefully we'll figure it all out soon because it's starting to drive me crazy not knowing our future!

Scripture Study
This is how I found Hallie the other day, just doing some scripture studying in a doll crib. You know, doing the every day 4 year old stuff. She's been so cute lately with her Book of Mormon. She pretty much takes it where ever she goes. And when she has to go to the bathroom or something, she'll say, "Mom will you keep an eye on my Book of Mormon?" I'm thankful for her example. I need be more like her.

Marathon...I finished!
Well I finished the St. George marathon, and No, it didn't take me until now to finish, I'm just very slow at being up to date on things. Anyhow all in all it went pretty well, despite the rain (it rained the whole time), the wind, my flu-like symptoms and the pruniest feet I've ever seen after it was all said and done! My feet were so sore, but in a different way this time, they got so wet that they actually hurt. Crazy! But I am very happy to report that none of my toenails fell off or are even sore! It was a good experience, even though it was so hard and I wanted to quit, I'm glad that I did it. I'm especially glad that I was able to share it with my Dad. He did so awesome!
My Brother Jared and nephew Felps came down to watch!

It was a long morning waiting and waiting for me to finally cross the finish line. Jake and the girls were so awesome to battle the yucky elements. They got so wet waiting to see my Dad and I at mile 16 that Jake went to K-mart and bought them new, warm outfits and awesome Ute hoodies. He also bought some dry clothes for my Dad and me too for after we were done running. He really is the best and boy did they feel good. I was so freezing after being drenched for 4 + hours.

Wiping the rain off my face at mile 16.

After it was all said and done, sharing a snuggle with my sweet Hallie. She loved getting a new princess umbrella.

Cheese!!

Yay! We did it! I loved sharing it all with my Dad. We did some training together, and ran together during the marathon for awhile. I enjoyed so much spending this time with him. He is so amazing. This was his second marathon this year. He had some set backs in his training and still he did it and did so well. Thanks Dad, I love you!

Marathon time, Yikes!
Well it's that time of year. Time for the St. George Marathon. I've known about this for a while, planned for it, trained for it, and now tha it is here I'm finding myself getting very nervous! I've done it before, sure it's been awhile, but I know what to expect, which I think is most likely the reason that I'm getting so nervous and anxious! I couldn't go to sleep the other night I just kept thinking about the marathon, thinking about the pain, thinking about my quads cramping at about mile 19 or 20 after running 19-20 miles alomost all down hill. Thinking about the lines at the portapotties (spelling?), not wanting to stop running and hurry up and wait just to use the bathroom. Oh and then seeing runner after runner dart to the nearest tree or bush forgoing the portapotty issue altogether. No shame. Then there's the Veyo hill, one mile completely up hill. There's the feeling that my toe nails are hanging on for dear life, there's the mental battle that kicks in about mile 22 of, "I want to stop, I want to quit." "No you can't you're almost there." There's the voices of the spectators yelling things like, "you're almost there, ONLY 4 more miles!" There's the feeling of "I think I really am going to die, everything hurts." at about mile 25. And there's the recovery. Only being able to side step down stairs because your quads are so sore. Only being able to wear flip flops because it hurts to get your toe-nails into any kind of closed toe shoe. Sleeping with your toes off the edge of the bed because it hurts to have your toe nails rub against the sheets. So why do I do this? Partly because I'm crazy and it really does give you an amazing feeling when it's all said and done. It's a feeling that you cannot really make anyone understand until they experience it for themselves. It's the instant connection that you have with all other 7,000 runners, because they are all experiencing your pain and the triumph too. Seeing many spectators that don't even know you, cheering you on and helping you get to the finish line. Anyway, sorry I got so winded on the subject. I feel a bit better know that I got it all out. :)
Here are some pictures of our picnic up the Canyon with my family. The girls loved the swings. Sadie loved swinging with "Jor Jor" as she calls Uncle Jordan. The girls also loved hiking with Grandma Lana.
The other two are just some snap shots of the girls that I thought were cute. I can't help but crack up when I see that one of Sadie. She has totally perfected the "cheese" smile.
