Bye Bye Blankey

A little over a week ago on a friday night, Jake and I were trying to get the kids ready for bed and have them in bed early because we were headed to Salt Lake the next day, early. They were all set for bed, except for one thing, Sadie's pink blankey. The pink blankey that has been with her from birth, the blankey that has been everywhere with us; Lake Powell, Nauvoo,4 moves, many trips to Wal-Mart, walks around the neighborhood, pretty much everywhere we have been in the last 3 years. You see this is the blankey that she has to have when dozing off to sleep. She snuggles up with it, puts her thumb in her mouth and she is off to dream land. Well at 8:30 pm on Friday, it was no where to be found. We searched the whole house several times over and no sign of it. What could have happened to it between naptime and bedtime? I didn't really even leave the house, except for a walk around the block. So I hopped in the car and drove around the block 2 times. Still nothing. We searched the house some more. Still nothing. We tried other blankets and used the word "special" when showing them to Sadie hoping that would do the trick. Her response was always the same, "No! I want my pink one!" So at 11:00 pm I was headed to Wal-Mart praying all the way there that they had a Sadie blankey of sorts. And you know what? They did! Thank heavens. Finally she had her "pink blankey" and went to sleep. So much for early to bed!
Here's the new blankey...very snuggly, just like the old one.

Flip flops are back again

It's so beautiful today, I'm loving it. It must be at least 50 degrees. A little glimpse of spring. I was outside doing some projects and I had to change into my flip flops and it felt good let me tell you.
Don't mind my scary winter feet.

Valentines

While helping Hallie make her Valentines for school she informed me that she has two boyfriends that are in her class, one named Adam and one named Dallas. When she got to their names on the list she really took her time choosing the right Valentine for each of them. When I asked her who was the cutest she said, "Dallas because he has dark hair and hazel eyes." Oh boy, oh boy. It's starting already. I have to admit it was pretty cute. When I told Jake about it, he didn't think it was so cute.

Meet Eddie

This is Eddie. Eddie is the newest member of the family, named by Hallie and Sadie. Eddie is the huge elk Jake got a little more than 4 years ago. Eddie has lived a few different places since because of his size, he's just so big. But he is home now. His home is in the garage (aka, the man cave) where there is plenty of room for him. Jake would like for his home to be above the fireplace, but compromise is the name of the game in marriage right? I hope Eddie's feelin all the love...everytime we leave or come home he gets a friendly, "Good morning Eddie". "Goodbye Eddie" from the girls.
