Poor Hallie has has strep throat 3 times in the last 2 months. So we went to the ENT on Monday and he said her tonsils were still big and that they should come out or else she would just keep getting strep throat. So today she had them out. They took her tonsils out, her adnoids out, and her 2 front teeth! They've been loose (her teeth that is) for awhile, but not quite loose enough to pull out. It was funny because we were joking with her yesterday about how we should just ask they doctor to pull them out, and sure enough he did! She looks so cute with her toothless smile. Everythings went well and she is recovering, a little sleepy and sore, but doing fine. She was very brave about the whole thing and has been so excited to eat popsicles and ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Merry Christmas
Christmas came and went so fast this year. I think having a new baby has something to do with that. This year I was very grateful for online shopping! We had a great Christmas. The girls got what they asked for, DS's , a magic kit and bathrobe for Hallie, and a guitar for Sadie. I have to say Christmas is so much fun with kids. We actually ended up waking them up Christmas morning, we were so excited. Most of all it was just a great day to be together and to be with family. I am very grateful to have family to be together with on holidays. I'm especially thankful for the Savior and to celebrate his birth and also his life and to remember him and the sacrifice he has made for me. What a blessing that is my life.
One month old
Crazy that this little man is one month old! He is changing so fast.
He eats like a champ and is really started to fill out.
He still gets up about 2ish and 6ish to eat in the night.
He grunts and growls like crazy, especially in his sleep.
He's such a sweet little guy.
"Enough with the pictures Mom! Feed me!"

My Christmas Baby
4 years ago on December 19th a beautiful 9 lb. 5 oz. baby girl with blonde fuzz on top was given to us. We were thrilled. We were living in South Dakota, it was almost Christmas, it was freezing cold outside, we missed our families, but she was here and she was perfect. She really was the best Christmas present that year. What a blessing she has been to our family. I can't believe that it has been four years. Time goes so fast.
Happy Birthday my Christmas baby!
The birthday girl playing with her new Barbie, the pediatrican barbie. Barbie really has come along way!
Bday presents!
The Birthday cake, I let Sadie decorate it all by herself this year.
-A few things about Sadie:
-Still loves her blankey and her thumb
-loves Barbies and polly pockets and can entertain herself for hours playing with them
-loves to snuggle and will come and get us (mostly Jake) in the night to "sguggle" with her
-loves going to pre-school
-loves to sing and sings around the house about anything and everything
-has a sassy, spunky little personality and is always cracking us up at the things she says
-calls me "mama" and I love it
-loves to dance
-loves to watch movies, her favorite, "Alvin and the chipmunks, the squeakal" and the "Chipmunk Adventure"
-loves to recite lines from the chipmunk movies in the best little chipmunk voice ever!
-loves her baby brother and is a good big sister
-is quite mischievious at times and when she's doing something she shouldn't she says "Mommy don't see me. Close your eyes."
-favorite foods: spaghetti, Raman noodles, Cinnamon chip bread, Easy mac, broccoli, chicken, steak, roast, grilled cheese sandwiches, but only at grandma Lana's, cool whip, marshmallows, frosted animal cookies with sprinkles
We love you Sadie Rae!
Visit from Stockton
Gracie
Grandma Janell, Sadie, and Gracie
We had some visitors from Stockton last week! Grandma and Grandpa and Gracie came down to hang out with us for a couple days. It was so fun to have them come and I finally took some pictures while they were here. I always mean to, but forget. The girls loved playing with Gracie and Grandma and Grandpa. Jake and his Dad worked on the electrical work in our basement (yay!) Thanks for coming to see us!
Big Sister
These were Hallie's words as I was taking the picture, "Hurry Mom, take him before he does something weird...like poop on me!" She's seen and heard this boy in action!

2 weeks old
The days are flying by with this little guy. It's crazy how slow the time goes while waiting for them to get here and how fast it goes once they arrive. It's been a good two weeks. It's been a little while since we've had a little one and I sort of forgot about all the feeding, diaper changing, sleeping (by the baby that is), and laundry that goes on at first. All in all it feels like we are all adjusting quite well. It's been fun to watch the girls with him and see how their mothering instincts have kicked in full force. Especially Sadie. She's always checking on him and telling me, "He's ok mom." It's was funny trying to explain the whole breastfeeding thing to her. Such a weird concept to a 3 year old. When we got home from the hospital and the first time Mckay cried because he was hungry she went over to the pantry trying to find something for him to eat. Then when we told her that babies only like milk at first, she went over to the fridge to get him some milk! Pretty funny.
I feel so thankful to have a healthy baby. When Mckay was born, when I was holding him we noticed that he had some extra cartilage on his right ear and a little ear tag hanging there. When we brought it to the Doctor's attention he said that they can just take the ear tag right off. Well then the Doctor got looking at his ear and found that there actually wasn't even an ear hole at all on that ear. The other ear looked just fine. When they tested his hearing at the hospital, obviously they couldn't test the right ear, but when they tested the left ear he didn't pass. We took him to the ENT doctor and he told us that the only way of knowing if he does in fact have an ear canal in the right ear and all the inner ear components is to do a CAT scan and they don't want to do that until he's at least a year old. So until then we won't know if he will be able to hear out of that ear. They don't want to fix the outside of the ear yet until they know the results of the CAT scan . I guess a lot of times if they end up doing surgery they like to use the extra cartilage. He told us that the main thing to worry about right now was that he could hear out of his left ear. We were scheduled to take him back in a week to repeat the hearing test. As a mother I just kept thinking about the possibility that my little boy could be deaf. Yes there are definately worse things that could happen, but it really pulled at my heart strings to think of him having to deal with that trial throughout his life. There were lots of prayers said on his behalf and he was given a priesthood blessing by Jake and my Dad and I felt peace that whatever the outcome he will be fine. He has a strong little spirit and will be able to handle whatever the outcome. Well thankfully when we took him back to be tested, he passed just fine on his left ear. So he has one good ear for sure! We were so thankful and I'm so grateful for the power of prayer and know that there is power in the priesthood.
Here's a picture of his little ear
I took him to his 2 weeks appointment and the little dude gained 10 oz. in a week! Everything looked great. He's sleeping well at night, waking up at 2:00ish and 6:00ish to eat.
