Dear Hallie Jo,

It's hard to know where to begin when writing this.  As I think of all the good that you are, I'm overwhelmed and so proud of you and the beautiful young lady you are becoming. From the very beginning you have always had strong opinions about things, I have to admit it was a bit challenging at times when you were so little (Lake Powell, for example ;)) But as you've grown up, I've come to realize what a great quality it is. You are strong, a bit stubborn and not easily persuaded. I know that you've been given that quality to..."Stand as a witness of God at all times, in all things, in all places." I hope and pray that you will realize this about yourself, that you are strong enough to stand up, and even stand alone sometimes if needs be. Don't be persuaded by the easy ways of the world.  The ways of the world may seem easier at times, but I promise you that true happiness is found in following the guidelines of the gospel and keeping the covenants that you have made.  It's not always easy but you are blessed as you do so.

You are beautiful, inside and out. You have such a beautiful, loving heart. You are a great big sister and a good example to your brother and sisters.  I hope and pray that you will value the relationships that you have with them.  Friends come and go throughout life, but you will always have your family. You're kind of stuck with us you know. ;) You are smart, school comes easy for you. Be grateful and humble, and the Lord will use you as an instrument in His hands for good. I love how much you love to read. You've probably read more books than I ever have!

You are also so much fun and are constantly making me laugh with all the silly things you say and do, which I love. Life gets so serious sometimes, it's important to laugh and have fun too.

You are so organized and such a great planner. It really is such a great to skill to have that will be so useful to you in so many aspects of your life. I could use a little bit more of that. ;)

I love you so much sweetheart. I hope you know that. You have been such a joy and blessing to me and our family. We've figured out a lot together and continue to do so. I'm grateful for your example to me. You are a beautiful daughter of God. He loves you and wants you to be happy. He's there for you always, through the good times and especially during the hard times of life that come. He will help you and guide you throughout your life if you seek Him.
