Thoughts...

Motherhood

I came across this on pinterest and loved it.
Being a Mom has taught me so much.
Things that I couldn't have learned any other way.
Some days are good and some days are great
and some days are well, not so great.
I lose my patience, I don't make dinner, the laundry is piled up,
the house is a mess, the kids don't listen to me,
they fight, and the list goes on.
I'm thankful that each day is a new start, the chance to be better than the day before.
A chance to see things in a new perspective and to realize that
the things I do everyday really do matter and can make a difference...
I like this quote
"It may seem simple, all the little things you do.
But the lives you touch matter so much,
and there's no one else like you.
And Father needs you to be strong and faithful, to be all you can be.
Oh, if you could seen what He sees.
You'd believe in what you're doing.
You'd believe in who you are.
Hold tight to the truth that you're a daughter of God.
Believe in who you're becoming.
Believe in who you are."

Have a great day!

loving...

Right now I'm loving....
-watching the kids play outside until the sun sets. Last night it was Little House on the Prairie
-hearing them refer to me as "Ma" and Jake as "Pa" when playing the above
-watching the little big man play baseball, that little guy's got a good swing!
-eating fresh goods from our garden. Our cucumbers are going crazy and the zucchini and yellow squash are still going strong, and tons of tomatoes turning red. Last night everything we had for dinner was fresh from the garden. Yum
-this talk by Pres. Uchtdorf. I listened to it last night while I was doing the dishes. So so good. Such important things to remember.
-Dave Matthews band, I've previewed their new album many times and want to buy it. Good stuff
-naptime, 2 hours of bliss, with the other kids at school
-Gilmore girls, I've seen them all a couple of times, but now that we upgraded our dish package I can watch them again :)
-sleeping with our windows open
-cool, crisp mornings, fall is in the air
-that it's almost the weekend :)

3rd

When and How did this happen? I have a third grader.
Day by day and little by little this has happened right before my very eyes. I was watching the kids the other day playing outside together and it hit me, it hit me how big they are all getting. They are becoming more independent, having opinions and their own ideas about things.  I got sad for a minute and then I thought about the little people they are becoming;
Hallie and her love for learning new things, and how she's always thinking of fun things to do and how she includes her best friend and little sister Sadie in her big plans. Sadie and her tender little heart and her honest perspective of life. Mckay and the "little big man" he is, trying to keep up with his big sisters and always keeping us on our toes, who would be completely content with playing with a ball all day.
Then I felt so thankful and blessed to be their Mom and to be able to watch them grow-up.
So here's to 3rd grade; it's going to be a great year!
